Neighbors on the map are cousins in the glass
Every classic placed by its balance: how much of it is spirit, citrus, syrup, liqueur, vermouth and bitter, or mixer. Slide a ratio and find the drinks closest to it.
Closest drinks
Each corner is one kind of ingredient. A drink sits closer to a corner the more of it the drink has, by volume (solid sugar counted as the syrup it would make). Dashes of bitters, herbs and egg aren’t counted. Sours gather between spirit, citrus and syrup; highballs sink toward mixers; Negronis lean to vermouth and bitter. Drinks near each other are built the same way, so if you like one, try its neighbors.
